2013 자라섬 국제재즈페스티벌By TaeHyun KIM on September 16, 2013Tweet Pin It jaraum_website Prev1 of 3Next 재즈, JAZZ, Z는 우리나라에 없는 발음이다. 재즈는 낯설다. 발음부터 되질 않으니. ※ 재즈의 재즈의 리듬·프레이징·사운드·블루스 하모니는 아프리카음악의 감각과 미국 흑인 특유의 음악감각에서 나오고, 사용되는 악기·멜로디·하모니는 유럽의 전통적인 수법을 따르고 있다.(두산백과사전) 아프리카 음악은 리듬이다. 블루스는 5음이 기본 구성이다. 또한 블루스에는 단조의 느낌이 들어 있다. 이는 한국의 정서와도 어느 부분 일치한다. 한국음악도 리듬이 중요하고, 5음, 특히 단조로로 구성되어 있지 않은가? 단지 다양함이 부족한 한국에게 잘 알려져 있지 않았을 뿐이다. 페스티벌이라는 이름으로 콘서트에 참가하는 것은 분명 다른 느낌을 준다. TV나 실내 공연장이 아닌 페스티벌은 말 그대로, 축제다. 10회 째를 맞이하는 “2013 자라섬 국제 재즈페스티벌”은 음악페스티벌이 많지 않은 한국에서 분명 참가할만 하다고 생각한다. Q. 인터뷰에 응해 주셔서 고맙습니다. 이번 페스티벌에 참가하는 소감 부탁드립니다. (Thank you for your interview. Could you tell me what you feel about joining this festival?) A. 제10회 자라섬 국제재즈페스티벌에 참여하게 되서 매우 흥분됩니다. 저희 연주를 빨리 들려드리고 싶고, 한국분들을 만나고 싶습니다. 그리고, 저희 연주에 대한 느낌을 듣고 싶습니다. 왜냐면 이번 페스티벌은 아시아 뿐만 아니라 세계에서 가장 중요한 페스티벌 중의 하나이기 때문입니다. 또한 우리의 음악을 연주할 생각을 하니 환상적입니다!!! (I am very excited to join to the 10th edition of Jarasum International Jazz Festival, really can’t wait to perform, know and meet Korean people and listen their feedback for our performance!!! Because Jarasum is one of the most important Jazz Festival not only in Asia but I think also in the world and the idea to perform with my music there is fantastic!!!) Download Video | YouTube to MP3 Q. 이번 페스티벌에 들려주실 음악에 대해 소개 부탁드립니다. (Which songs are you going to play for this festival, and Could you give me some comment for the songs? pls. ) A. 앨범 “Tango Mediterraneo” (2008) 와 “D’impulso” (2012), 피아졸라(Astor Piazzolla)가 작곡한 곡을 연주할 예정입니다. 그리고 저희가 편곡한 전통탱고를 들려드릴 것입니다. 우리는 1999년 피아졸라(Astor Piazzolla)의 곡들은 연주하기 시작했습니다. 수년간 피아졸라(Astor Piazzolla)의 곡들을 연구하고 편곡하고 연주한 후에 단지 탱고만이 아닌 우리의 음악을 만들기 시작했습니다. 탱고만이 아닌 음악을 만든 이유는 이전의 음악적인 배경때문이였습니다. Gianni는 클라식 음악을, 저와 Pierluigi는 재즈음악을 했었기 때문이죠. 저희는 클라식 음악 형태로 원곡을 쓰고 편곡했고, 재즈는 매순간 모든 곡들이 즉흥적인 연주를 동반합니다. 이탈리안 멜로디 또한 저희에겐 진정으로 중요하죠. 사실 우리의 곡들은 아름답습니다. 또한 익숙한 멜로디를 가졌습니다. Nuevo_Tango-2 모던 탱고인 “D’impulso”-즉흥곡의 중심부분, “Candombe Tres”, Candombe는 우루과이의 전통리듬으로 일반적으로 4중주 형식이지만, 우리는 3중주로 연주할 것입니다. “Il sole della Puglia”는 Apulia의 태양을 의미합니다. Apulia는 남부 이탈리아의 한 지방입니다. Apulia는 늘 태양이 내려쬐는 바다와 언덕이 어우러진 아름다운 곳입니다. 다른 곡인 “Angelica”는 Gianni의 딸 이름이자, 아르헨티나 전통춤인 차카렐라(Chacarera)입니다. 많은 사람들에게 사랑 받은 “Le lanterne di Phuket”곡은 Phuket의 등불를 의미해요. 저는 태국에 있는 Phuket섬에서 새해 전야를 보냈죠. 그곳의 사람들은 하늘로 등불을 띄워 보내며 새해 소원을 비는 전통이 있습니다. 수만개의 등불이 Phuket의 하늘을 수놓은 모습은 매우 아름다운 경험이였죠. 그래서 “Le lanterne di Phuket”곡을 쓰게 되었습니다. 한국에 이와 같은 전통이 있는지는 모르겠지만, 아마도 있지 않을까 생각합니다. 물론 이번 페스티벌에서 Piazzolla의 아름다운 곡인 “Adios Nonino”를 연주할겁니다. Piazzolla가 그의 아버지가 하늘나라로 떠났을 때 받친 곡입니다. 그리고 Villoldo의 곡인 전통 탱고, “El Choclo”를 매우 흥미있게 편곡해서 연주할 예정입니다. (We will play first of all original compositions recorded in our last two album called “Tango Mediterraneo” (2008) and “D’impulso” (2012) and composition by Astor Piazzolla and traditional tango too re-arranged by us. We started in 1999 performing Piazzolla’s music, after years of study, arranging, transcribing Piazzolla’s music we begin to compose our music which not only tango, cause of our previous musical background: classical for me and Gianni, and Jazz for me also and Pierluigi. Classical because our original songs are written and arranged like classical form of pieces, jazz because with improvisation every composition performed is always different time to time and also Italian melody which is really important for us, in fact our composition has beautiful and recognizable melodies. We will perform the composition “D’impulso” which is a modern tango with a central part of improvised music, “Candombe Tres”, the candombe is a tipical traditional rhythm from Uruguay usually in 4 movements but we write in 3, “Il sole della Puglia” means Apulia’s sun, Apulia is our country in South of Italy and we have almost always the sun in our beautiful places on the hill and sea, other composition is “Angelica” which is a Gianni’s daughter and it’s a chacarera, another traditional rhythm from Argentina, another composition that people likes very much is “Le lanterne di Phuket” means Phuket’s lanterns; I was in Thailand in Phuket’s island for New Years Eve and they usually have a tradition to make a wish and then make fly the lanters in the sky, it was a beautiful experience to see million of lanterns in the beautiful sky of Phuket so here is “Le lantern di Phuket”, I don’t know but maybe this tradition is also in South Korea! We will play of course one of the most beautiful Piazzolla’s composition “Adios Nonino” which Piazzolla dedicated to his father when he died and we will perform also a traditional tango too called “El Choclo” by Villoldo re-arranged by us in a very interesting way) Q. 탱고에는 무엇이 들어있나요?(What is things in Tango?) A. 탱고는 전세계적인 현상입니다! 원래는 춤을 위해 태어났지만 클라식 음악가들은 세계 곳곳의 콘서트홀에서 연주했죠. 저는 아르헨티나로 이민온 스페인, 그리스, 다른 음악가와 더불어 이탈리아 음악가들을 강조하고 싶습니다. 춤을 위한 곡 이전에 탱고를 훌륭한 음악 장르 중에 하나로 만들었죠. 또한 탱고를 콘서트홀에서 들을 수 있도록 한 Astor Piazzolla에게 감사드립니다. Piazzolla의 아버님을 더하고 싶습니다. 그는 이탈리아 남부지방 Trani (Apulia)에서 온 Pantaleon(현악기의 일종)이라고 불렸습니다. - 우리는 아르헨티나에 이민 간 Piazzolla가 이탈리아인이라는 것을 자랑스럽니다. Q. Nuevo Tango Ensamble 콘서트에서 관객들이 무엇을 얻길 바라는지요? (what does attendance get from your concert?) A. 글쎄요. 잘 모르겠습니다. ^^ 한국관객분들은 콘서트와 새로운 음악에 매우 집중한다고 알고 있습니다. 저희 콘서트가 관객으로 꽉 차길 바랍니다. (I don’t know ^^ I know that Korean people pays great attention to new musical projects and new sound so I just can hope that we will have fully booked places in our venue!) Q. 탱고는 한국인들에게 익숙한 음악은 아닙니다. 탱고에 대해 말씀해 주십시오. (Tango is not very familiar with Korean, what do you think of Tango?) A. 네, 저희의 연주를 통해 이 훌륭한 음악 장르가 한국관객분들에게 더욱 관심받길 바랍니다. (I hope that we, with our music, we can bring to the attention better this wonderful musical genre to Korean people in our mood to play.) Q. 한국에서 다음 스케쥴을 어떻게 되는지요?
